Models for predicting penetration of penetration-grade Bitumen blended with lighter petroleum products

Abstract

Models based  on curve  fitting by  least  square method, are presented  for predicting the

penetration of penetration grade bitumen blended with kerosene, diesel and lubricating oil, up

to 10% by volume of each diluents per 100ml of pure bitumen, and the predictions of the model

compare  reasonably  well with experimental  data. The  models presented may  be  limited to

bitumen with penetration grade  of 40-50 grade  used in the experiments and  the range  of

volume of diluents considered in the analysis.
